Arrests made as part of county-wide drugs operation

Two men were arrested last night (1 November) on suspicion of theft and drugs offences following a vehicle stop as part of an on-going county-wide police operation.

Officers monitored a suspicious yellow Ford Focus and a stinger was deployed at junction 15 of the M6 at around 6pm.

An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent and a 28-year-old man from Rugby were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. They remain in police custody at this time.

A large amount of cocaine valued at around £1,500, £700 cash and a number of phones were all seized during the stop and search.

Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury of Staffordshire Police, said: “These arrests are indicative of the good work being carried out by Staffordshire Police alongside CMPG in relation to drugs offences.

“We are committed to tackling drug crime in the county and will continue to take positive action against those who engage in such activity.”
