Codsall Arts Festival

Purely for Your Entertainment!

Who doesn’t like to put their cares of the day to one side and, for a few hours, slip into a world created by others? Well Codsall Community Arts Festival has come up with some fabulous ideas to help you do just that.

Our very own Queen of the Black Country, Doreen Tipton, has graciously accepted an invitation to visit our humble community. In this one-off special for Codsall Community Arts Festival, local legend Doreen, presents a collection of some of her favourite moments, sketches and videos from the past five years of doing her one-woman shows. Includes extracts from “Doreen’s Grand Night Out”, “Rise of the Yam-Yam” “Doreen’s Christmas Cracker” and “Doreen’s Big Top”.

A great introduction to Doreen if you’ve never seen her live before, and a varied feast of favourite funny memories for ardent fans. Either way, you’ll do some loffin’.

Now, prepare to be mesmerised by illusionist Bertie Pearce. Bertie is a Member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star and he will regale us with Wonder Workers and the Art of Illusion. Who doesn’t have a fascination with magic and the seemingly impossible? This waggish and original show is likely to be remembered for many years to come.

Closer to home, the much respected Codsall Dramatic Society will be presenting Joking Apart by Alan Ayckbourn. Written in response to comments that he only ever wrote about unhappy couples, Ayckbourn has declared this to be his favourite of the plays he penned.
