BT notification of the removal of 27 payphone kiosks within South Staffordshire

South Staffordshire Council has received a notification from BT concerning the removal of 27 telephone kiosks throughout the South Staffordshire District. This affects two telephone kiosks in Bilbrook. The one outside of Motorworld on Pendeford Mill Lane and the other near Bilbrook Train Station on the junction of Duck Lane and Wolverhampton Road. (See pictures)

The initial consultation – during which BT placed a notice up inside the telephone kiosks requesting residents with objections to write in and comment and South Staffordshire Council contacted the local Councillors and Parish Councils – is now complete. The first response is attached. A copy of this will also be displayed in the telephone kiosks and has been sent to the Department of Trade and Industry.

A further one month consultation period will now begin which will close on 15.12.2019.

The consultation process is open to all public comments. Any comments should be directed to South Staffordshire Council’s planning team and can be sent by email to planning clearly identifying which of the kiosks the objection relates to and the grounds for objection.
