Bilbrook Anti-idling Campaign.

In the UK, air pollution is the largest environmental risk to public health. Children are particularly at risk because of their lower height, they are closer to the exhaust level.
Thank you to Bilbrook CE Middle School year 8 pupils and South Staffordshire Police PCSO Fran who helped Parish Councillors encourage drivers to switch off their engines when they are stationary. 20 cars were approached; Thank you to the 17 drivers who switched their engine off as a result.
Pupils also helped take air pollution readings with the air pollution monitor purchased thanks to funding from the Staffordshire County Council Climate Action fund. This project supports curriculum areas such as Science (pollution sources), Geography (environmental impact), and Maths (data handling)
